Mid America SMA change.
Just a reminder, Wells Fargo will no longer be managing your SMA money. It has been transfered to John Hancock. You should be getting your SMA statements which show the transfer. You should have all received the John Hancock packet a while back. Call if you have questions.
Dental Coverage.
Apparently there is some confusion as to who has our dental coverage. Tri-State is our coverage for dental. The provider can call
866-463-9418 and forms are available at http://www.tristatewelfarefund.com/forms-and-documents/ . If your dentist calls Delta Dental you will be told you are denied. The dentist needs to contact Tri-State for your coverage.
I am sorry for the confusion, let me know if you have any questions.
International Delegates & Contract Ratification.
On Tuesday April 19th, we had an election for 3 Delegates to the International Convention in Las Vegas, NV. The results were as follows:
Dave Whitmore – 26
Paul Kauffman – 23
Mark Richeson – 21
Ben Scroggins – 17 (Alternate)
We also voted to allocate our contract increase at the union meeting. This is the last year of a 3 year contract. The contract had 30 cents allocated to the Health and Welfare and 50 cents allocated to 498DB Pension predetermined. The additional 1.50 was voted on and allocated. A 1.40 went to the Tri-State Health and Welfare
to insure continued good coverage, a better retirement benefit, and the benefit of a stable larger plan that was needed. The Apprentice Fund received the remaining 10 cents to help maintain the growing apprentice program.
Voting for Delegates to the International Convention and Voting to Allocate Contract Increase.
Reminder: Voting for Delegates to the International Convention in August, is from 1 pm to 6 pm at the Hall. The Union Meeting will follow. We will be voting to allocate the increase. Hope to see you all there.

Craig Nenneman really enjoys working with kids at the Northwest Illinois Building Trades Career Expo. He really is animated and gets these young kids into it whether they like it or not HAHA. We don’t have virtual welders, paint booths, or operating simulators. We have Craig and those kids (and teachers) remember him year after year. Way to go Craig and a Big THANK YOU! Also a shout out to volunteering apprentices Mackson Wimbley, John Ruiz, and Chad Barlass.

Good News for Beloit and the Construction Trades.
Your new Benny HRA VISA Cards
Some of you have been receiving your VISA cards for your Health Reimbursement Account. Your account is already set up.
The easiest process is to go to www.tristatewelfarefund.com/ , go to the Contact Us tab and scroll down to the HRA link. Do not try and set up new account.
User name is your first
initial + last name + last 4 digits of SSN – example bsmith1234 (may be a
variation if a Jr. or Sr)
Password –
initially set as member’s SSN no dashes
They will then be
asked security questions and prompted to enter a new password.
You will then be able to view your HRA Balance. There is also an App for this for your mobile device.
I hope this helps. Feel free to call if you have questions.

Super Tuesday Tomorrow
I am encouraging EVERYONE to get out and participate in the primary and do your civil duty as a citizen of this great nation. We may not all agree on who we would like to see in the White House but we ALL need to do our part. Make sure your spouse also votes, the results will affect them too.
I am hopeful you will see the value in choosing a candidate that will promote your way of life, up to AND including your pension. This is what you look forward to at the end of a long career in a physically demanding job, after your body has broke down. Something very few of any if the candidates would understand directly.
They are not all equal.
